Quality Control Order for Electrical Appliances for Commercial Dispensing and Vending

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department For Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade) has issued a Quality Control Order (QCO) for Electrical Appliances for Commercial Dispensing and Vending by consulting with the Bureau of Indian Standards to mandates BIS ISI mark certification for this category of appliances.

Short title and commencement–
(1) This Order may be called the Electrical Appliances for Commercial Dispensing and Vending (Quality Control) Order, 2025.
(2) It shall come into force on the 1st day of October, 2025.

Penalty for contravention-
As per the Quality Control Order, if any person who contravenes the provisions of this Order shall be punishable under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.

Getting BIS ISI Mark Certification for electrical appliances used in commercial dispensing and vending is now mandatory for all the manufacturers or importers of these products who are selling their products in India.
