MINISTRY OF CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS (Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals) has issued Quality Control Order to regulate the quality of certain chemicals. The ministry has issued this order to make BIS Certification mandatory for Beta Picoline, Sodium Tripolyphosphate, Pyridine.

Quality Control Order for Beta Picoline, Sodium Tripolyphosphate, Pyridine

After consulting with the Bureau of Indian Standards, the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals has issued a Quality Control Order on 11th March, 2025.

Date of Implementation:

This order shall come into force on the 13th March, 2026.

Beta Picoline- IS 16112: 2013
Sodium Tripolyphosphate- IS 6100: 1984
Pyridine- IS 8058: 2018

After the Implementation date of this Quality Control Order for Beta Picoline, Sodium Tripolyphosphate, Pyridine, the manufacturers or importers of these chemicals are not allowed to manufacture or import without obtaining BIS certification. After getting BIS License, manufacturers can adhere ISI Mark on their products which shows that the product is tested and certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards.
